ANNOUNCING TWO NEW MEMBERS OF CELTIC WOMAN!

Drawing from our rich heritage of Irish female musical talent, we are delighted to welcome Sean-Nós singer Caitríona Sherlock and fiddle player Ciara Ní Mhurcú to the Celtic Woman line-up.

Caitríona and Ciara will debut with Celtic Woman on our upcoming Symphony Christmas Tour.

Originally from County Monaghan, Caitríona is an Irish singer who grew up surrounded by the rich traditions of Irish music and song. From a young age she immersed herself in Traditional Irish Music and Sean-Nós singing, going on to become a multiple All-Ireland Fleadh Cheoil Champion in Traditional Singing. She has proudly represented Ireland’s music, language, and culture on stages across Europe and the USA.

A seasoned performer, Caitríona has toured internationally as a soloist and as a guest vocalist with Irish Christmas in America – The Show and the Irish trad supergroup Téada. In 2023, she appeared as a featured soloist with the Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra in Texas. She is also a member of the internationally renowned ensemble ANÚNA and their female vocal group Systir, with whom she has toured throughout Italy, Germany, and Iceland.

While completing her Bachelor of Music degree at University College Dublin, Caitríona was awarded a vocal scholarship with The Choral Scholars of UCD. During this time, she recorded several solos, performed as a soloist in Carnegie Hall in New York and the National Concert Hall in Dublin, and featured on CBS Sunday Morning’s St. Patrick’s Day Special. Alongside performing she is a passionate music educator, teaching Traditional Singing in her hometown and serving as a guest tutor at festivals across Ireland and Europe.

Caitríona is truly honoured to be joining the incredible legacy of women in Celtic Woman, a group she has admired since childhood, and is thrilled to share this next exciting chapter with audiences around the world!

Fiddle player Ciara Ní Mhurchú from Dublin has been steeped in traditional Irish culture her whole life. As a teenager she represented Ireland in European Folk Festivals in Germany, France and Portugal & competed in Music and Irish Dancing on an international level at Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and the World Irish Dancing Championships winning two gold All Ireland Fleadh Medals and two top 10 World Medals.

She has performed for hundreds of audiences across the globe with productions such as Dance Masters, Gaelforce Dance, Fusion Fighters and Rhythm of the Dance, Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance, Celtic Thunder and Riverdance. She appeared alongside Lindsay Lohan playing fiddle in the 2024 movie An Irish Wish. She is also a member of BIIRD.

Please join us in welcoming Caitríona and Ciara to the Celtic Woman family.
