Following Grammy nominated music group Celtic Woman’s nationwide competition in search of an aspiring singer to join them on stage at their recent 3Arena show, competition winner Anabel Sweeney from Wicklow endeared audiences with her beautiful voice and commanding stage presence. Anabel performed a solo piece, Fields of Gold, and was later joined on stage by Celtic Woman in a lively performance of Westering Home (pictured above).
The show was recorded as part of Celtic Woman’s new ‘Homecoming’ CD/DVD special which will be released in the new year. Speaking about her experience Anabel said: “To perform at the 3Arena with Celtic Woman was such an honour and an incredible experience. I enjoyed every minute of it.”
Celtic Woman’s Executive Producer, Dave Kavanagh commented: “We were hugely impressed by Anabel’s performance. Celtic Woman is a platform for incredible Irish female talent and we are delighted that Anabel will feature on the upcoming CD/DVD.”
Homecoming – Live in Ireland will broadcast as a PBS television special in the United States in December and will release as a CD/DVD special in 2018.
