When did you join Celtic Woman?
I did my interview in the INEC in Killarney in December of 2018 & then I began my first 3 month American tour at the end of February in 2019.
When did you first start playing the pipes?
I first started playing the pipes when I was 11. I grew up around bagpipes & pipe bands all my life & my grandfather started the local pipe band in my town.
All of his kids played in it including my father. I'm delighted to be able to keep the family tradition going & the 3 generations of bagpiping.
Do you play any other instrument?
I play a bit of guitar & since Christmas I've started learning the whistle. I've been getting lessons from Darragh Murphy, the uileann piper & whistle player on tour.
What is your favourite Celtic Woman song to play?
I think my favourite Celtic Woman song to play is The Parting Glass. At the end of every show, I march down the centre of the stage with the 4 girls standing in front of me, the band around me & everybody is on stage at that point. It symbolizes the closing of the show, but it also symbolizes a lot more in Ireland because it is such a historical song here.
Do you have a favourite tour memory?
I think it would have to be Red Rocks in Colorado. When I was standing on top of the rock, there was 10,000 people in front of me, the stage below me & looking down on Denver in the valley below. It was absolutely amazing. It still doesn't feel real to me. It was something special.
