HI LISA!!!!
4:59
[Comment From Dwight ]
Hi Lisa
4:59
[Comment From Natasha Rohlfing ]
Hello
4:59
[Comment From Greg ]
Hello Lisa , glad to be with you today.
5:00
lisa:

HI there.  Well i'm very fortunate to be part of a very close family.  Both my parents have a really good work ethic and they are both very honest, loyal people so i couldn't possibly pick out of the two.  My sisters are a huge part of my life.  I am still learning things from both of them and my parents

5:00
[Comment From NH Fan ]
Hi lisa its frank from Manchester NH and powerscourt! What was the highlight for you of Powerscourt?
5:00
[Comment From Judy Saxton ]
Hi Lisa. My 3yr old niece calls you her singing princes.
5:00
lisa:
Ah hi frank.  I think the setting surpassed anything else.  I had forgotten how beautiful it is there.  Hope you enjoyed it
5:01
[Comment From Kaytlyn Cota ]
How has your experience changed working with Lynn and Alex?
5:02
lisa:

Lynn and Alex are wonderful.  I was always a huge fan of both of them.  Alex was kind of the first person I knew to make it in the musical circuit in London and she was a huge inspiration for me.  And i've always said that Lynn could sing me to sleep.  It's always nice working with different people.  We've always been lucky to have very nice and professional people in Celtic Woman

5:03
[Comment From Barry Scott Jackson, Tenn ]
With your demanding tour schedule how do you keep your voices from the stress and strain of so many shows?
5:03
[Comment From Guest ]
Thanks Lisa.. From Another Lisa. !!
5:04
lisa:
The voice is incredible instrument.  There is a lot of muscle memory within it.  But I don't stress too much about my voice, which I think helps.  You can pretty much sing through a cold and sometimes sing a little better with a head cold Wink.  But I do try not to shout too much and drink plenty of hot water and honey and lemon!!!
5:04
[Comment From Bob Vannix ]
I am a vocational teacher in the southern cal area. I would like to go back to the classroom and tell my students about the amount of time someone like yourself takes to be a sucessful musician. perhaps tell us about the time practicing individuall and as a group
5:05
lisa:

When you sing every night there isn't all the much need to spend hours warming up every day.  I warm up for about 15 mins with the girls prior to a show.  And then I've some vocal exercises that I do myself.

5:05
[Comment From Tom ]
Hi Lisa, thanks for taking the time to chat with us. How are you able to keep so fresh from one show to the next.
5:06
lisa:
I love what I do.  And I've always said that with 3 kids on the road with you the show is the easiest part of my day. I think most working mothers would say the same.  I love the audience reaction too.  That helps.
5:06
[Comment From Helen ]
Hi Lisa!!! My teacher's are always telling me to have a back up plan because we can't all be singers (darn!) so when you were growing up what was another career you thought about going for?
5:07
lisa:
Absolutely.  I am so glad that i was actually in a "proper" job before Celtic Woman. I always wanted to be a teacher but it didn't work out for me and I ended up working in computer applications.  But it makes you appreciate what you do!  Do have a back up plan though.!!!  You may never need it but it's always good to have.  Good luck x
5:08
[Comment From Jessica ]
how has being a part of celtic woman changed your life
5:09
lisa:
Well it's my dream come true. I've been very lucky in my life, but I worked really hard to get where i got and it didn't come easy.  I had a lot of knocks on the way.  I'm very grateful that my children get to come with me and see how hard it can be but also so rewarding.  The theatre teaches a lot of discipline which is really good for them
5:09
[Comment From Dustin ]
Good afternoon, Lisa. It is such an honor to speak with you. My question is the following: As a future musician and educator, I am fearful that I may lose the spark with my love for music; I am afraid it will simply become my day-to-day job. How do you keep the sharing of your talent and gift more than simply an occupation?
5:11
lisa:
Someone I respected a lot as a teenager told me never to make my hobby my job because it would become just that - a job!.  I can say that with my hand on my heart, i've never felt that way about what i do.  I think with music, it's so expressive and intimate all in one.  I love what I do and i really believe that people who do love their jobs, never see it as a job.  My dad taught me that!
5:11
[Comment From moira,brisbane australia ]
hi.wondering when you girlsare coming to australia
5:12
lisa:
G'day!.  Ah we'd love to get to Australia.  We did some promo adverts for Ovation the other day, so who knows!.  I've spent quite a lot of time there as my hubby is australian.  Hopefully some day soon we'll get there
5:12
[Comment From Randy in Richmond ]
Hi, Lisa. My question involves the traveling you do. I talked to you on the sidewalk in Richmond in June as you were about to get on your bus. You had been in Cleveland the night before and were getting ready to depart for Lexington, Ky. Are you and the other girls really able to sleep on those overnight cross country trips?
5:12
lisa:
Oh yes!!!!.  No problem at all.  They are really comfy.
5:12
[Comment From Diane Bolen ]
Hi Lisa, I'm so pleased to be able to join in on this event. You are my most favorite Celtic Woman. But I do like them all. My question is: When you sing your song "Send me a Song" who or what are you thinking about?
5:13
[Comment From moira,australia ]
thanks for your time and all the joy of your music
5:13
[Comment From Jessica ]
Lisa i love you ive been to every one of your shows!
5:13
lisa:
Hi Diane.  It changed every night, to be honest.  Sometimes you'll see a longing face in the audience and you can sing it to them.  I loved that song.  Definitely one of my favourites

5:13
[Comment From Bob ]
How much time do you spend preparing for new programs? like learning the coreography etc.
5:14
lisa:

Hi Bob - usually an intensive week in Ireland and a few days wherever the show kicks off

5:14
[Comment From Natasha Rohlfing ]
Hi Lisa! I saw you in St. Louis and you were amazing as always! I was the one who gave you the Easter baskets for the kids and then go to meet you! It was one of the best nights of my life! My question is, did you ever dream that you would have all the fans you have now? People adore you, including me. How do you feel/deal with that?
5:14
[Comment From Dustin ]
Thank you, Lisa.
5:15
lisa:
To be honest, I never really think of it like that.  I just want people to come to the show and enjoy it for what it is.  It gives me great joy that people feel touched by our music and performances.
5:15
[Comment From Chris Walraven ]
Hi Lisa, I've watched Celtic Woman perform twice this year, once at the Fox in Atlanta and once last night. Having traveled the country, what is your favorite venue to perform and what city do you most closely identify with?
5:16
lisa:

Ooooo - there are so many venues that I love in the states.  I have to say the Fox theatres are incredible.  Atlanta is a more modern beautiful Fox but the ones in Detroit and St louis have that real "theatre" feel about them.  Backstage all the walls are covered in writing of all the shows that have been there. I love the outdoor venues and the arenas always bring something new too.

5:16
[Comment From Judy Saxton ]
Do you see in the near future a chance to record your own DVD? You are such an inspiration to us all and a joy to watch.
5:17
[Comment From Diane Bolen ]
Will you be coming out with a new CD of your own? If so, when will it be available?
5:17
lisa:
Ha ha - i've already tried that.  It was a disaster.  I would love to another one, but finding the time is proving difficult.  Maybe by the time i'm a grandma, i'll get to do it.  Although I don't know who'd be interested then!!!
5:18
[Comment From Bob ]
Do your familislies get to see your programs often? My wife and I just love to see your show when you come to Santa Barbara.
5:18
lisa:
I'd love to do a new CD.  I've just be so busy for the last few years.  But it is the plan
5:19
[Comment From Bob ]
How often does your group get back to Ireland?
5:19
lisa:
My mum and dad try to come to Radio City every year but my mum broke her hip this year and couldn't make so they haven't managed to see the Isle of Hope show but my sister came out to Boston.
5:19
lisa:
We only tour feb-july and October - December
5:20
[Comment From Chris Walraven ]
Also, know that when I was Sigma Pi at Auburn University the brothers used to make fun of me for watching you guys on PBS until I forced them to watch an entire show. They were all speechless and you now have a lo of fans at Auburn University.
5:20
lisa:
Ha ha - good to hear!!! Bring it on!
5:20
lisa:
Thanks Chris
5:21
[Comment From Kaytlyn Cota ]
What is your favorite song to sing in the Isle of Hope tour?
5:21
lisa:
That changes every night.  I really like all the songs in this show.  But i love the reaction O America gets
5:21
[Comment From Timothy Koneska ]
Do you stay close to Meav and Orla even thow they have gone solo
5:22
lisa:
Yes they are both very busy so it's usually by text but they are both well
5:22
[Comment From Bob ]
do the singers have other types of jobs tht they do in the offtime or do you do other singing events or jsut take it easy.
5:23
lisa:
No to be honest this year we didn't have much downtime
January was rehearsals for Isle Of Hope tour and July/Aug we rehearsals and recording for Songs from the Heart so we were kept very busy
5:23
[Comment From Tom ]
When you are home in Ireland, what do you and your family do to relax?
5:24
lisa:

It's just nice being in house after spending so much time in hotels and on the bus. So we tend to take advantage of the.  We just spend time as a family doing family things.

5:24
[Comment From Chris Walraven ]
Thank you for introducing us all to Celtic music.
5:25
lisa:
Ooopss punctuation is getting worse by the minute!
5:25
lisa:
You're very welcome
5:25
[Comment From Bob ]
Sitting 5 rows from the front at your SAnta Barbara venue is so amazing. We could never sit in regualar seating. It is so amazing how you transisiton from one song to the next with no down time. Can you pull this off at all venues
5:26
lisa:
Yes.  We have a fantastic production team that keep every thing running very smoothly.  Sometimes we loose bits of our set but that just makes it interesting.
5:26
[Comment From Diane Bolen ]
I know what you mean about being a mom and I only have one. What kind of hopes and dreams do you have for you children? Are you hopping they follow in your foot steps?
5:27
lisa:
I just hope for them to be happy and healthy.  My parents were always good at encouraging us to work hard at what we enjoy and never forced us down any particular road.  I'm sure you agree as long as they are happy that is all you want for them.  Although, they do perform at any given opportunity!!!
5:27
[Comment From Natasha Rohlfing ]
I love your song, "If You Believe" from Tinkerbell. Are you in any of the bonus footage?
5:28
lisa:
No.  I recorded that song very quickly on a break in Dublin in December.  It was fun though.  I'm glad you like it
5:28
[Comment From moira,australia ]
my 8 year old whose singing class use your Slane castle "you raise me up" in their lessons wants to know your favourite colour-her last ? b4 bed -its 0325 here in oz
5:29
lisa:
Oh dear!!  My favourite colour is pink of course!!!!
5:29
[Comment From Chris Walraven ]
This is something I should already know, but...When are you guys coming out with another PBS special?
5:30
lisa:
I believe it's coming out in November/December.  You're in for a treat!
5:30
[Comment From John ]
What music do you like listening to when you are relaxing?
5:32
lisa:
Ha I've such diverse tastes in music.  I love musicals, depending on my mood.  At the moment Josh Groban's verison of Chess is playing.  I love Michael Buble, The Carpenters, Tina Arena, Garth Brooks, Leonard Cohen, Leona Lewis - you see - diverse!
5:32
[Comment From Guest ]
Being of Irish heritage.. where would you suggest we see first on our trip there ? By the way . CW is the only music on my blog :-)
5:32
[Comment From Jessica ]
My dad and I love you Lisa were so thankful that you do what you do cause we stop what were doing just to watch you and the girls
5:33
lisa:
Ha - i am totally biased about Dublin.  Yo must see all of it.  However, I spent some time in Connemara 2 years ago and it was incredible.  The landscape is unbelievable and Kerry is so pretty too
5:33
[Comment From NH Fan ]
looking forward to Mohegan sun on Friday night...you wouldnt happen to have a couple advance copies of the DVD with you from Powerscourt would you? Those of us that were there cant wait have you been able to preview it?
5:33
lisa:
Thanks Jessica x
5:34
[Comment From Timothy Koneska ]
Wen you sing the song "the voice" it sounds so personal.
5:37
lisa:
Ha ha - I wish we had.  I haven't even seen the DVD yet.  You only have to wait until January.  However, if you are in the connecticut PBS coverage we are airing the show from Powerscourt for the first time

5:37
[Comment From Jessica ]
what your new show going to be like Lisa? and when is your CD Isle of hope coming out in stores?
5:38
lisa:

Sorry for the delay Timothy.  I love singing the Voice.  It is really special to me.

5:38
[Comment From Dayna Sikorski ]
You made my life in Akron Ohio a few nights ago, you (and Chloe) waved to me and i can't thank you enough for that!! If you had to choose one dress that is your favorite, could you do it? lol and if so, which one?
5:39
lisa:

The new show is fabulous, i think.  The CD will be songs from the heart and not Isle of Hope

5:39
[Comment From Matt ]
Hi Lisa ! I'm so happy to be here ! I've seen Isle of Hope twice, one being at Radio City and thought it was amazing. What makes the song "Fields of Gold" special for you night after night? Do you feel a special connection with it ?
5:39
lisa:
That's a hard one Danya.  My favourite dresses are probably the ones we wore for Powerscourt.  They were incredible and my second favourite was the red one that Synan made for me when I was pregnant with Ellie.  I loved that dress.
5:40
[Comment From Diane Bolen ]
When would be the best time of the year to visit Dublin.
5:40
lisa:
I was really worried about singing Fields of Gold initially but I've really grown to love it and connect with it.  It's such a beautiful song.
5:41
lisa:
Any time is great to visit Dublin.  If it's warm you can walk around the city easily as it's so small and if it's cold and rainy you can pick one of the fabulous pubs and enjoy some really great food!
5:41
[Comment From moira,australia ]
u r obviously working tonite, wat is your preshow routine?
5:42
lisa:
We have soundcheck when we get to the theatre and then hair/make up and then a little warm up and hit the stage.  Being on the road is very routined and disciplined so you have to be in the right place at the right time constantly!
5:42
[Comment From Justin Moore ]
Looking forward to your two shows in Albuquerque next month; also, I will have a meet&greet with Orla and Jim Brickman the same week. Shall I say hello for you?
5:43
lisa:
That's fantastic Justin.  Of course say a big hello to Orla!
5:43
[Comment From Jessica ]
After so many shows were does yur energy come from to keep going even when your exsausted?
5:44
lisa:

As I said earlier you feed off the excitement of the audience and of course you have good days and bad days but because you enjoy what you do so much it never seems like a chore.  Actually if I am having a bad day, the show will usually cheer me up!

5:44
[Comment From Justin Moore ]
Greetings Lisa, How does the Annie Moore story in "Isle of Hope, Isle of Tears" personally move you; and have CW visited Ellis Island? Thank you, kindly!
5:46
lisa:
Hi Justin no I've never been to Ellis Island.  I hope to one day.  I fell in love with that song the minute I heard it.  It makes you think about how hard it must have been all those years ago to leave such a small country like ireland to travel to somewhere as huge as america and the trek that those people had to make to get there.  Very very brave people
5:46
[Comment From Greg from Sacramento ]
Hi Lisa , I am so glad you include our town in your tour. I love when you really belt out a lyric and extend your voice. Do you have to keep this to a minimum given the nightly intensity of touring?
5:47
lisa:
No not really Greg.  My voice is a belter voice really.  I'm probably most comfortable belting.  It's being quiet i have to work on!!!Wink
5:47
[Comment From Matt ]
Hi Lisa, Should we get our hopes up that there will be a new David & Lisa piano piece for Songs of the Heart ? The others are so lovely !!
5:48
lisa:
There is a David and Lisa special but this time it includes our dear Mairead!  it's "The Moons a Harsh Mistress" a Jimmy Webb song.  It's really nice.
5:48
[Comment From Dwight ]
Hello Lisa, 1st off I was online with Deirdre yesturday she mentioned to say Hi to you and all the girls.
5:48
[Comment From Dwight ]
My Question was What are your favorite movies
5:48
lisa:

Ah good.  I miss Deirdre

5:50
lisa:
Again very diverse - I love Some Like It Hot, Dangerous Liasons, I watched the Hangover recently and loved that, Kramer vs Kramer, Beaches, The Shawshank Redemption, The Pianist
5:50
[Comment From Judy Saxton ]
I enjoy watching you sing. You give such meaning to the songs you perform. Does your acting skills help you to sell the songs. It makes my heart sing when you smile while you sing.
5:50
lisa:
They are just some of the ones i like
5:51
lisa:

Yes I think acting helps interpret some songs definitely but i think if you enjoy the songs your singing that will show through as opposed to acting.

5:51
[Comment From Dayna Sikorski ]
Two of my best friends are going to the concert tonight, and they have Meet and Greet passes. i know you probably can't tell me who is going to be there, but they are twins and their names are Kristine and Katharine, and if you're there, i was wondering if you could address them before they introduce themselves, as if you know them already. i know they would die! lol
5:52
lisa:
I won't know if I am on M&G until i hit the theatre tonight but if I am I will be sure to tell them I was speaking with you today!
5:52
[Comment From Natasha Rohlfing ]
How do you keep Cian, Jack and Ellie entertained while you are on tour?
5:52
[Comment From Dayna Sikorski ]
THANK YOU!!!!!
5:53
[Comment From Chris Walraven ]
Lisa it has been a privilege to chat with you; on behalf of everyone, I would like to thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to take our questions and comments. Whether you're aware of it or not, your music is an inspiration to us all and we're ever-so great-full for your time and music.
5:54
lisa:
I am very lucky that I have wonderful help.  The boys have school every show day so that keeps them busy.  Ellie is easily amused to be honest.  She loves pottering around the room with her little doll.  The boys love the childrens museums over here.  The children facilities are incredible in this country.  We could learn a lot.  But the boys love nothing better than coming to sound check, learning drums with Ray and playing with the crew!
5:54
[Comment From Guest ]
Lisa, thank you, again, for this opportunity. I must say that you, along with the other women of Celtic Woman, have truly inspired me and was one motivation to pursue my passion, music, and learn to become a high school choir director. What advice would you give to a musically-talented student who is discouraged from acknowledging and sharing their talents and gifts?
5:54
lisa:
Ah than you Chris.  It's lovely to speak with you all
5:55
[Comment From Dustin ]
Thank you, Lisa. I look forward to attending the future concerts and seeing and hearing you perform. Thank you for your time, inspiration, your love of music, and for allowing us the opportunity to witness such beauty.
5:55
lisa:
It's hard to know.  Everyone's circumstance is different but i would say to never give up on your dream.  Only you can control it and hard work and dedication will always pay off.  And sometimes what you think is your dream isn't really your dream - always bear that in mind
5:55
lisa:
Thanks Dustin
5:56
[Comment From Bob ]
LIsa, I agree that you and all the singers music is so special. We really enjoy your programs again and again. I want to thank you for your time and wish you success and look forward to southern california where the weather is allways great!

5:57
[Comment From Jessica ]
How did you get the part
5:57
lisa:

David Downes asked me to be part of it

5:58
[Comment From Chris Walraven ]
Lisa, the pleasure is all ours. Do you write any music personally?
5:58
lisa:

No i'm really really not talented that way!!  Any of the girls will tell you that!

5:58
[Comment From Greg from Sacramento ]
